Meg was asked if the way she was treated differed when they were out together with their parents, and in the case of going out on their own. Meg said, 'Oh Sure, I've witnessed everything!' Heigl told her parents she realized the extent of her ignorance. Her anger grew, and she decided to make use of her anger to assist her daughters who were adopted by her. Heigl has a four year old son who is married to her 13 year old spouse, Josh Kelley. In 2009, they adopted Nancy Leigh (12), one of their daughters of South Korea, and Adalaide (8, a black child) in 2012.
