Jennifer Garner was originally born in Houston Texas on the 17th of April in 1972. Her family was however raised at Charleston West Virginia. William John Garner served as an engineer at Union Carbide. Patricia Ann was a teacher at the local college. So that she could follow the footsteps of her father, she earned a degree as a chemical engineer. To pursue her acting dream and pursue her acting career, she decided to relocate into New York and try her hand in Hollywood. The restaurant she worked in was and was a part of Broadway plays. She was in a minor part in the film "Felicity" (where the show was where she first encountered Scott Foley). Garner got her first big role on the screen in "13 going on thirty" which was a romantic comedy which was widely praised. Garner played a teenage girl trapped inside her body as an adult. Garner decided to hire Gary Winick (director) to create the film. The two looked for new projects to do before Winick's passing in 2011. in 2009 Garner was named an ambassador to the arts for Save the Children U.S.A. The role includes promoting national literacy, nutrition, and early learning. Garner is a board member for this nonprofit organization since 2014. She advocates early childhood education. As a member of the Early Steps to School Success (EASS) program's ambassador team Garner has visited families on a regular basis to coach them on ways to motivate their children to succeed.
