April Lockhart
April Lockhart (born July 4, 1995) started her musical journey at the age of 7 when she started guitar and piano classes. At the age of seven, April began taking piano and guitar lessons. The lessons sparked her passion to write songs. When she was 14 April devoted a great deal of time to making song lyrics and working on her musical skills. After a while, she began to go on trips with her dad as well as write her songs either in NY as well as LA. April also included additional topics in her song, Take my Hand. These topics were for friends that dealt issues like peer pressure, issues or even teenage suicide thoughts. Lockhart also enjoys an increasing fan base as a lifestyle blogger and is employed by the renowned clean beauty company Ilia. Her birthplace didn't come with a left-hand, which is the reason she's the person she is. But that's far from the whole story. Lockhart's Instagram profile doesn't cover up her disability, but it does not just focus on the issue. What message is it sending? We are all more than our physical selves. The identities we have are complex and encompass a variety of dimensions. Lockhart, via video messages from his Nashville at home, claims that I do not want that to be a part of myself. I'm much greater than the physical person I am. The issue doesn't affect my everyday life. I carry on my business as usual and have found different ways of adapting. It's an integral element of my life and it's imperative that we talk about it. Lockhart encourages us to keep striving to be self-accepting. Lockhart admits to having been through phases in her life in her body, and felt insecure at times to wear clothing that displayed her arms. Nowadays, she dresses what she's comfortable in and post photos in those outfits to social networks with a sense of pride. It's all a process is the most important thing. I don't know that you ever arrive she says about self-love. This is a process, and I'm sure that you never arrive. The people you surround yourself with that truly understand you, and can see through your eyes are the best people who can remind you of the things you're worried about.
