Decker is always considered a country artist, however the album produced and promoted for a pop audience. Her music came under increased scrutinization following the release in the form of two hits. The following track, Boys in the Summer had a country feel. Decker made her debut album under two different titles: Sweet American Dreams or Daughter of a Gypsy. Mercury shelved it when the first three singles did poorly in the country charts. Decker then was let out of the contract.
